Who are the developers and what type of experience do they have?
An excellent question so many overlook when making software decisions. Joe and Sherry Mehm have been in the window coverings industry for over
23 years. The couple created and established numerous local retail operations during their first 13 years in the industry. They are also
responsible for many of the top Internet based window coverings sites such as BlindsWholesale.com, Blinds.com, BestBlinds.com and IslandBlinds.com.
With over a decade of designing and building window coverings websites, Joe and Sherry have come to understand the things most important
to online shoppers. Combining their Internet and direct selling experience, they then applied it on a local level, first hand. They started
closing more sales immediately. After witnessing the results, their decision to make a turn-key software package available to other retailers,

Will I be able to use LocalCommerce software to sell online like other Internet dealers?
Although this software gives you an Internet presence it is not intended for worldwide sales. Our software was designed
exclusively for use as a local retail web presence and not to compete online with other Internet retailers. Therefore it is not licensed
for such usage. You will be authorized to sell to anyone online that is within 50 miles of your office zip code, but not outside of that
area as the software automatically tracks “ship to” addresses relative to your office location through Geocode processing. Here’s a plus
though - Google Adwords allows you to limit your advertising area to gain more "local" exposure. This provides you the ability to advertise
your new website so that it only shows to online shoppers that are actually within your licensed territory.
Do I need to own my own domain name to use LocalCommerce?
We offer two options for LocalCommerce subscribers when choosing a domain name for your website. Neither will cost you a dime. Since some retailers already own their company domain
name, all that’s required is that they have their “names servers” redirected to an address we provide.
The other option is for you to find an available name then let us take care of the registration, setup and hosting. Again, all of this is at no cost to you.
You will find these options and a tool to query for available domain names on our Dealer Signup Form.
Note: If Blinds Commerce registers and pays for your domain name and you decide to cancel your account there will be a fee of $49.00 for you to take ownership of that name.
Couldn't I just pay someone to design a custom website for me?
Of course you could. Provided you are prepared to spend anywhere from $30,000 for a basic website, to as much as $300,000 for a
comprehensive, e-commerce website. One that’s comparable to the website you receive from Blinds Commerce 2.0. A site designed for
businesses seeking a relevant web presence, but without the high cost of building a quality, custom website from the ground up. With no set

Will I be locked into a long term contract?
No long term contracts are required. You pay month to month and can cancel at any time without further obligation.
